Your firm's closed files may hold value you've never counted.

AI companies license copies of real business records, such as memos, templates and procedures, to help train their systems. We'll tell you, in a free and confidential call, whether your firm's records could qualify.

Free for your firm. No obligation. Your originals stay with you.
Approved firms are compensated directly by the buyer. Amounts depend on the buyer's review of your records.

A quiet wood-paneled law library with a long walnut conference table, green leather chairs and afternoon light through tall windows.

Established firms hold years of careful work: briefs, memos, templates, checklists and the hard-won know-how behind them. Once a matter closes, those files usually sit in storage, costing money to keep and earning nothing.

Today, companies building AI are looking for exactly this kind of real-world professional writing, and some will pay to license a copy of it. Many firm owners don't yet know this is possible. Those who do often aren't sure where to start, or whom to trust with the question.

We exist to close that gap. We explain plainly how data licensing works, help you see whether your firm meets a buyer's basic requirements, and answer your confidentiality questions before you decide anything. If it isn't a fit, we'll tell you so. If it is, we'll help you start the application, and the decision to go ahead is always yours.

We're not lawyers, and we won't pretend to be. We're independent liaisons who believe your firm's past work deserves a fair look.

The free call

What you'll learn in 20 minutes

  1. How data licensing works

A plain-English explanation of what buyers license, why they want it, and what the process looks like from start to finish.

  2. Whether your firm is likely to qualify

We'll check your firm against a buyer's basic requirements: size, location, language and the kinds of records you keep.

  3. What happens to confidential material

Buyers license a copy of approved records and say they remove personal and sensitive information. We'll walk through the questions to raise with your own counsel.

  4. Your next step

If you're a likely fit and want to go ahead, we'll help you start the application. If not, you'll know, at no cost.

What it costs your firm

Nothing. Ever.

We're paid a referral fee by the data buyer, and only if your firm is accepted. You never pay us, and you're never obligated to accept an offer.

"Your originals never leave your firm. Buyers license a copy of what you approve, and the choice to go ahead is always yours."

How it works

Three steps, at your pace

  1. I.

    A short call

We learn about your firm and see whether it's a likely fit. No documents are shared on the call.

  2. II.

    You apply

Your firm submits its own application directly to the buyer through our referral link, so you stay in control of what's shared.

  3. III.

    The buyer reviews

The buyer reviews your firm and, if approved, discusses terms with you directly. No deal is guaranteed, and you decide whether to accept.

Who qualifies

Your firm may be a good fit if…

  • Your firm has 10 or more employees
  • You're based in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom or Australia
  • You have years of records: memos, templates, emails, matter files and procedures
  • Your records are mostly in English
  • You're open to a confidential, no-obligation conversation

Starting with law firms

We work first with law practices, especially real estate and closing firms. Firms with 30 or more people may have a second buyer option.

Not a law firm? Accounting, medical, finance and other established businesses can qualify too, often at a larger size. A short call will tell you.

Questions

Questions you may have

Is the call really free?

Yes. The call is free, and so is our help afterward. We're paid a referral fee by the data buyer, and only if your firm is accepted. Your firm never pays us.

What kind of records do buyers want?

Typically real operating documents: internal memos, templates, procedures, project or matter histories and similar business writing, mostly in English. Each buyer decides what it accepts.

Do we lose our files?

No. Buyers license a copy of the records you approve. Your originals stay with your firm.

What about client confidentiality?

Buyers say they remove personal and sensitive information, and you choose what to share. Law firms have special duties, so please review any agreement with your own counsel or ethics advisor before going ahead. We don't give legal advice.

How much could it be worth?

It depends entirely on the buyer's review of your firm and its records. We can't promise any amount, or that an offer will be made.

What if we're not a fit?

We'll tell you plainly on the call. There's no cost and no follow-up pressure.

Are you a law firm, or part of the buyer?

Neither. Sterling Ledger Connect is an independent referral service. We're not a law firm, and we're not employed by or affiliated with any data buyer.

Who are the buyers?

Established companies that license business records to help build and test AI systems. Each has its own requirements, and we'll tell you on the call which buyer best fits your firm's size and records. You always apply directly to the buyer and can review its terms before agreeing to anything.

How long does the process take?

The call takes about 20 minutes. After you apply, timing depends on the buyer's review and on how quickly your firm completes each step.

A quiet conversation, with no obligation.

Twenty minutes is enough to know whether your firm's past work could qualify. If it doesn't, you'll have lost nothing but a coffee break.
